History

The probably most famous brewery of the world was founded in 1869. Even in the early years the company was among Europe's leading breweries. During the Great Depression the company bought the Stenowitzer Brauerei, the Bürgerliche Brauerei in Rokycany and the Böhmische Pilsner Brauerei AG in Pilsen. The company name was then changed to Pilsner-Actienbrauverein.
